progress on multiple fronts
Nov. 20th, 2009 12:40 pmThe chromium test results finally came back, and Snip does in fact have low chromium. This is actually good news, because it means she hasn't got any horribly fatal reason for being a bowling ball with legs. All I have to do is get ahold of a chromium picolinate supplement, preferably in liquid form so I can squirt her wet food with it, and off we go.
I also found out that it doesn't necessarily have to cost me $150 to get a visa for India, and I shouldn't do it yet anyway unless I want a 5-year visa. Considering that this is a one-shot trip, I don't need a 5-year visa; the six-month option will be perfectly adequate. It's valid for six months from the day it's issued and takes about a week to get issued, and this is November, and I'm not leaving until late March, so I think I'll wait until January or so. I'm counting this as progress because I didn't previously know that it's not something I have to think about right now.
The credit card bill finally arrived yesterday, and the heart attack was only a moderate one. And in two weeks I can buy materials for the wedding-present embroidery. (Which means I have two weeks to figure out once and for all what colors it's going to be, and decide that I am not going to kill anybody if I drive out to Westborough.)
Speaking of killing people, the only thing dumber than having a piece of waxed paper on the kitchen floor and slipping on it is not throwing it out immediately and then slipping on it again two minutes later. My knee was displeased about that.
My efforts to eat less seem to be about half-successful. I don't want to eat so much in general now, but there are still some things I shouldn't eat a lot of that I seem to still want to eat a lot of.
So, for tomorrow, the List in no particular order:
- Petco
- South Station
- Hardware store Never mind, the storm door got fixed today
- Vacuum rugs
