I hope I get home before the thunderstorms tonight. Although at least I'll be on the way home, where there are dry towels and other clothes to change into if necessary. (At home there is also Snip, who was sufficiently upset by the thunderstormlet this morning to slink into the spelunking closet.)

Last night, starting at about 6:30, there were two guys working on a tree over our back-door neighbor's yard. The trunk of this tree is actually in our next-door neighbor's yard, but there's a very large branch that goes diagonally across the corner of our yard and into the back-door neighbor's airspace. Apparently the back-door neighbor wanted some of the branch cut off, and the cut-off parts fell into our yard. I was beginning to consider whether to predial 911 for the tree trimmers, because I was still hearing the chainsaw at 9:15 and it's blacker than the inside of a cow back there when the sun goes down. I don't think you could pay me enough to mess around with a chainsaw in the dark.

I can't really come up with a reason why I should have to be at work tomorrow. I can't do anything useful until my boss comes back next week, and my apartment needs a minor archaeological dig and a major vacuuming. It's at the point where I know I'll feel better when the place is clean again. I'd rather be at home making myself feel better than be at work warming a chair because it isn't Saturday yet.
