Jul. 13th, 2011 03:31 pmFriday the 13th tried to come on Wednesday this month, because first thing this morning I discovered a grillionpede in the bathtub. Fortunately I have a highly effective grillionpede removal system, name of Lily. (She's not quite as efficient as she is effective, but she covers the cheap and good legs of the "fast, cheap and good" triangle.)
Despite starting off like that, the rest of today seems to be putting one foot in front of the other with a fair degree of success. It helps that the weather today is a bit more fit for human habitation. I can tell it is, even though I haven't been outside since this morning, because I haven't had to put my hair up in order to keep my neck from suffocating. Yesterday was head-shaving weather.
I think perhaps that taking Monday off is one of the better ideas I've had in ages. My brain desperately wants to shut down since Longer Service was yesterday, and since I'm the only person dealing with junior promotions AND annual appointments until Friday I'm getting all sorts of questions I can't really answer. "I don't know, but I'll find out" apparently isn't an acceptable answer for most of the people who are asking. Sigh.
In the spirit of doing something that isn't going to work and coming home again afterward, I'm looking for somebody to take voice lessons from. My work schedule is just slightly too insane to allow for chorus rehearsals, and I really want to start singing again (and maybe if somebody tried to teach me to sight read, I'd learn to). Anybody got any recommendations for voice teachers, preferably on the Boston side of the river?
