(no subject)

Today is a high-octane coffee day due to a smoke detector's dying battery. I decided not to mess around with ladders in the middle of the night (putting on my glasses gave me instant vertigo), so the alarm kept waking me up. That'll teach me. I hauled out the ladder this morning before I went to work, and replaced the offending battery. It's always an adventure when a smoke detector battery dies in that building; first you have to figure out which of the nine possible smoke detectors it is. This time it was the second floor front stairwell. (I should start keeping a list so I know which one it probably isn't, next time.)

Singing in German went better than I thought it would. The singing part went quite well, and the German part went mostly OK. I find that singing in languages I don't speak is a little weird. I guess that's yet another reason to get off my backside and learn German, like I've been threatening to for several years. I'd be less likely to sing the wrong word if I knew what it was supposed to mean.

How did it get to be almost 2:00 already, and why isn't it later than that? (It's one of THOSE days.)
