Jun. 5th, 2012 09:53 pmThe calendar says it's June, but the weather says it's early April. If it's going to be solid overcast for a week or so, can't it at least be warm?
Warm or otherwise, it was P&R day today. Now I can stop having the fantods about it, because this time I was dealing with the agendas and the logistics (which I haven't done much) instead of the materials (which I can practically do in my sleep). Now I can also set the alarm clock back to where it belongs, too, and that is a lovely idea.
I moved into the new office space last Friday, along with three other people who all have offices (two are sharing one office) and are all at the other end of the suite. (The other three people will be along eventually; one doesn't have any furniture yet.) So far I like my new cube, but I think we really need some brighter light bulbs in the ceiling lights. The ones in there now are very yellow.
Apparently whatever was wrong with my innards last week is over with. Thank goodness. It went out with a very odd bang, though. For most of the day on Saturday, any dairy product that didn't have sugar in it tasted bitter to me. Ice cream was OK, but butter and any kind of cheese were bitter. That was weird, and caused me to have to go grocery shopping again because the "mac and cheese for lunch this week" plan went right out the window. The subsequent chili is pretty good, although I think I could have stopped at half a bottle of beer and made up the rest of the necessary liquid with water. At least I'm not feeding it to anybody else, and I like it enough to keep eating it.
When, as, and if the sun comes out next week, I think I'll celebrate by taking myself out to Eastern Standard for dinner. I've been meaning to do that for a while now.
