Yesterday was the kind of productive day in which I spent the entire day working on getting an end result. (It was P&R materials day, and the end result was getting the agendas set, the reviewers assigned, the votesheets created and all the materials scanned, bookmarked and posted. And it took until 7:30.) Days like that are exhausting, and by the time I got home last night I was hungry and tired and grumpy, and felt like the world owed me more than a figurative pat on the head and a couple of microwaved frozen tamales for dinner. And then Lily came and sat on the desk and I got Purred At, which helped.

Today is the kind of productive day in which I get a lot of little things done, and feel good about getting each of them done. I've sent out some emails that I owed to people, and wrangled the end-of-year P&R data (426 cases this year, split up by meeting, department, institution, and promotion criteria), and officially asked to take my birthday off, and written a draft of a search report for one of my cases, and set up the vote count spreadsheet for the materials we posted yesterday. So it's a better day already.
