Oct. 15th, 2013 04:23 pmAs of yesterday, I hit the halfway point in the weight loss saga. I think I can safely call this "fat in lower-case letters". However, I've got 22.4 lb left to lose, so it's not all beer and skittles yet. (Whimper: I miss beer.) And I've got to do SOMETHING about the pants problem. I just wish it wasn't going to be expensive, because I've already spent a lot of money this month. Next month is probably an oil delivery month. And next month the Hairy Beasts get their shots, and that's also expensive.
Speaking of shots, HSDM was giving free flu shots today, and I got one. This is the first time I've gotten one, mostly because I now get students tromping through all the time and who knows what they (or, indirectly, their patients) might have. Besides that, the statute of limitations on "no more voluntary shots, thank you" ran out. I still don't like getting shots, but at least now I can think about them without thinking about how unpleasant it was to get Hep A and tetanus in the same arm at the same time. Speaking of which, I ought to see if I can get an appointment with my GP sometime before Christmas.
I spent yesterday doing a lot of not much, because I could, and enjoyed it quite some. I was about due for a day like that. Or two days like that, even. I was taking things easy on purpose because I was expecting a caffeine withdrawal headache, but that waited until this afternoon to show up. I haven't had high-octane coffee since Friday. I sort of did that by accident, but it's not the worst thing ever, especially since I had been considering giving up caffeine again anyway. I don't think this job requires caffeination. Now do I keep having afternoon tea, or is breaking the high-octane coffee habit the important part? Decisions, decisions...
