Feb. 3rd, 2014 04:53 pmThis weekend I actually felt good about pretty much everything. I physically felt good, and I was happy to go out without scarf and mittens, and merf around in weather I almost (but not quite) didn't need a jacket for, and I spent some (more) money on some (more) clothes that fit the shape I am now. And I walked for a solid hour and a half, and then had an enormous bowl of vegetable pho for lunch, which made me happy because it was vegetables.
And I made turnovers, and they were wonderful when hot and passable when cooled and didn't make a horrible mess all over the inside of the oven.
The Super Bowl was fun, because although I'm sure Peyton Manning is a nice guy, I can't STAND his media circus. (I don't like Tom Brady's, either.) And the Broncos got off on the wrong foot and stayed there, so I was entertained.
Unfortunately it all went downhill when I went to bed. I woke up at 3:45 from a dream about somebody trying to hand me a very large and not-quite-dead-yet spider that was making a disturbing noise, and discovered that I had been kicking the quilt and the section of my left big toenail that I was expecting to lose had mostly come off. So I had to get up and deal with that lest it get stuck in the sheets, and then when I fell asleep again, I had another disturbing dream.
This morning I found out that my 94-year-old great-aunt Anna (Pepere's sister) died yesterday of a stroke she had last week. This is not a bad thing, really, because she was ready to move on to whatever's next. But it wasn't the best first email to read in the morning.
Today I spammed 200 foreign dental schools with our continuing education course brochure. As of now, only 28 of the emails bounced, but I'm still praying for my inbox. And I could have sworn it was supposed to stop snowing by now, and it hasn't. If it's going to snow like blazes on Wednesday, the least it could do today is stop.
