Apr. 11th, 2014 10:12 pmThe Office for Dental Education has had its first Continuing Education course. It was a great success as far as the attendees were concerned.
As far as I'm concerned, I spent maybe three hours of the past two days at my desk. The rest of it was spent running between buildings, standing in front of food that wasn't meant for student consumption (yet), waiting for workshops to be over, putting up posters, taking down posters, rearranging lecture room furniture, re-rearranging lecture room furniture, attending the keynote speech, and so forth, and so on, etc. Words cannot express how glad I am that we had this course on a Thursday and Friday, because if it hadn't been the end of the week today, I would have taken tomorrow off.
When I was at my desk, I was sorting out issues with the online materials for the two predoctoral courses that are also going on. One of them is an issue whereby the program I used to create surveys and the program the students use to actually take the surveys don't play well together, so what comes up for the students looks absolutely nothing like what I created and posted. I have no idea how to fix the discrepancy, or if it's even fixable in the first place.
And that, my children, is why I had entirely too much sushi for one person for dinner tonight, and didn't even bestir myself to go get it. I had it delivered. So there.
