May. 1st, 2014 01:10 pmThe bizarre dreams have eased off, which is nice, but the "wake up for an hour at 2 AM" is back, which is not. Grumble.
Ungrumble: Last weekend I wanted to see about new pants (again), because the cheap size 10 pants were feeling big. So I went looking for cheap size 8s (and found them, and they fit), but I also walked past White House Black Market just to browse. They had a dress in the window that I looked at and said "Yeah, right. Not in a million years." But since I was there mostly for entertainment value anyway, I tried it on. In a size 12, which I definitely filed under "entertainment value" because weight loss notwithstanding, I still pretty much have a size 14 bust. Well, not in this dress I don't. The size 12 fit like it was made for me, and actually made me feel good about myself (in fact, I think I'm smokin' hot in it), so I ignored the screaming from my wallet and bought it. Now I need it to be 70 or so for a week so I can actually wear it.
The screaming from my wallet is not helped by my having bought a dress to go sing jazz in and a petticoat to put under it. But the dress needs a petticoat, and I needed it in a hurry, so I spent $37 on two-day shipping. I got it yesterday, which is good, and the dress looks much better with it, which is good. But I'd like to stop hauling out the credit card every three days. That ought to be easy this weekend, because between Saturday when I have to go sing and Sunday when I might have other things to do, I won't be spending money like water. Again.
If Sunday's plans fall through, I'm spending the day having a MASSIVE spring cleaning fit. I should really take a Monday off and do it then, because I can get a lot of other things done after the cleaning fit, but I can't really take a Monday off before Memorial Day. The cleaning fit can't wait that long. This is one of those "Make a list by room, start at the back of the apartment and work forward, and upon arriving at the front door, go out through it (with the trash and/or recycling) and amuse yourself somewhere else until the floors dry" cleaning fits. And getting it all done at once means I don't have to start over again immediately after I finish. Hoping for open-window weather, regardless of what I end up doing on Sunday, though. At least today is warmish and grey and rainy, instead of cold and grey and rainy.
