Jun. 26th, 2014 09:57 amLast night I spent the evening volunteering at the Greater Boston Food Bank, which was new and different and worthwhile (not sure "fun" is quite the right word), but which ultimately caused me not to get a whole lot of sleep last night. I got dropped off at Ruggles at about 8:00, and by the time I got from there to Copley, just missed the B train, got on the C train, got off at Cleveland Circle, walked to Anna's on Beacon St and obtained a gargantuan burrito, walked the rest of the way home, fed the cats and shed most of the clothes I had on, it was 9:30 or so. I'm glad the wind was still blowing while I was walking home, because without it the humidity would have been completely ridiculous.
I eventually ingested the gargantuan burrito (overall-flavor-wise, Chipotle wins, although Anna's gave me a huge amount of carnitas and not quite so much rice) and took a bath and went to bed...and proceeded to wake up once an hour all night. I suspect it was partly the weather (the wind died and the humidity got completely ridiculous, and then it RAINED) and partly the dinner almost right before bedtime. However, ugh, and I wish I hadn't had to haul my carcass to work this morning.
At least all I have to do today is finish the first draft of the article I started writing yesterday about the implementation of a flipped classroom educational model in a predoctoral dental curriculum. If I were a student, I could get at least middle author credit and it would go toward the research requirement for graduation; if I were faculty, I would need first author credit for promotion (or senior author credit, but my boss gets that for this one). But since I'm staff, I don't have any research or publication requirements and I don't get any author credit at all. I might get an acknowledgement, at least, and that does appear in the article.
