Aug. 2nd, 2014 04:11 pmI have four pairs of black socks. Every single time I wash more than one pair in a load of laundry, I end up missing one sock (usually left behind in the dryer; it's dark in there and it's also dark in the basement, even with the light on).
This time I decided there would not be an odd number of black socks coming out of the dryer. I very carefully extracted last week's errant black sock before I put the wet laundry in on top of it, and was feeling smug until I went back upstairs and (of course) discovered a wet black sock on the stairs. I have no idea how that happened, since the laundry basket was only half full and I wasn't carrying it such that things could fall out. It's a conspiracy, is what it is, and I'm going to write a very stern letter to the Minister of Convenience about it one of these days.
