dchenes: (katana)
Ow. My foot slipped when I got up to get off the bus this morning and I cracked my shin hard against the edge of a seat. I knew it was going to bruise, but I didn't think it was going to bruise instantly. Given how close the shinbone is to the surface, I don't know why I didn't think it was going to bruise instantly.

At least today is Thursday, which means it's the first day this week when I don't have a lunch meeting. All I really have to do today is attempt to sort out the Oral Health Day in November. I'm not sure how I ended up in charge of this (because it's going on in the middle of a HMS course, which is way the hell outside my purview), but it's a monster, and it's a mess, and I get to sort it out. One of the three lecturers is being a flake and I need to find at least another 15 people to serve as tutors for small group exercises (which is pretty much impossible, but I have to try anyway). The sore shin is not helping my mood either.

At least the Hairy Beasts still think I ought to be sat on and Purred At, and that does help. Feline love may not be unconditional, but it isn't horribly expensive either. Lily wants food and water and safety, and Snip wants food and water and company. I can do that, and I do, so I get sat on and Purred At.

I managed to misremember the date of the sectional rehearsal; it's the 18th, not the 12th. I even wrote it down last week when it was announced, and managed to misremember it anyway. So now I only have a voice lesson on the 12th.

I know I can't put enough sweet stuff in oatmeal to make it edible, but I never even considered trying to make it savory. I wonder if that would help? I suppose I could try it once and find out. Oatmeal and garlic is a slightly odd thought, but if I put enough other stuff (herbs and spices and something crunchy to be determined later) in it, it might work.
