Observations so far (in no particular order):

- The Airbus 380 is a BIG airplane.
- Either not a lot of people want to go to Sydney from DFW at 10:40 on a Thursday night, or Qantas is immune to the American airline disease of overselling all flights all the time.
- Luxury is having three seats to yourself on a 17-hour flight so you can lie down. Even if one of the armrests wouldn't stay up.
- If you think you're going to have time to do anything at the next airport except run for your connecting flight, you're crazy. Even if you theoretically have three hours, you won't.
- I thought the resort must be piping in wildlife noises from somewhere, but most of it seems to be coming from a largish number of fairly enormous bats. (Spectacled flying foxes, to be precise, and apparently there were about 400 or so here over Christmas. Since they make so much noise, the resort had to provide earplugs.)
- I wish I had the photography skills to take pictures of moving butterflies. Maybe I need to try the Sports setting on the camera.
- Wallabies are pretty cute.
- Kangaroo tastes like beef, only more so, and the grain is a little different.
