dchenes: (katana)
Lily's done with the vet (getting the stitches out only cost $55, which amounts to $10 per minute, but I was expecting at least $100), and was mostly speaking to me when I left again to go to work. There's very little disruption of her life that smoked trout and the Patented Double-Barrel LilyBeast Scritch won't fix. And I won't be suddenly stuffing her into a carrier again until November.

My shoulder, having carried Lily to the vet and back, is not speaking to me. It was unhappy anyway because humidity isn't its favorite thing and it went CRACK this morning. Advil doesn't work and ice hasn't worked and I don't know what else I can do for it while I'm at work. On Tuesday I go to the orthopedist (who's going to ask me why I'm there if I haven't had any PT yet) and on Wednesday I go for a PT evaluation at BIDMC. The place I was going before Australia was a madhouse and wasn't really helping anyway. I can't tell yet whether having a massage every other week is helping the shoulder or not, but it can't be bad to have my trapezius muscle reminded that it doesn't get its way all the time.

It occurs to me that I never had any breakfast. (Of course I had coffee. It's comfort food. I certainly didn't need any more waking up; I woke up early this morning anyway.) Maybe food would help. I just have to persuade myself not to go and eat my weight in strip-mall-Chinese-food egg rolls or something similarly tasty but not good for me.

At least I don't have anything heavy that Must Be Done this weekend. Maybe I'll go on a whale watch, if I can persuade myself to spend money on me now that I'm done spending it on Lily.
