Nov. 5th, 2015 03:52 pmThis morning I woke up and managed to put my left lens in my right eye, which of course means the right lens went in the left eye. Which of course meant everything was slightly blurry and I couldn't figure out why that was until I got to work. I still haven't found the left lens I flung somewhere by accident last week. But the new lenses did show up on Monday night (while I was standing on the front porch making disparaging comments to myself about junk mail. If the UPS man heard me, he at least didn't mention it).
The at-home vet suggests shutting a nervous cat in the bathroom before he arrives. I can't imagine that shutting Lily in the bathroom would make her any less nervous. She only hangs out in the bathroom when I'm in the bathtub. If I shut the closet door and block off the underneath of the dresser, the bedroom is pretty short on hiding places, since the bookshelf and the nightstand are only a couple of inches off the floor and the bed is on the floor. Besides, I have enough baby gates to render the bedroom hard to get out of. Maybe I'll ask about that.
Finished reading The Martian, and enjoyed it very much. But it was downright cruel of the author to maroon our hero on Mars with no entertainment outside of 70s TV shows and disco music.
Speaking of books, the next Pogo book is not in fact coming out this November; it's coming out next November. (I wonder when I got that wrong?) I hope they print the book after this one, because at two years of comics per book, the book after this one will contain my favorite arc ever (the one involving the door in the middle of nowhere).
I don't really want to do errands in the dark on the way home, but I don't really have much of a choice about it since I am now out of apples. Eating apples for breakfast keeps me from eating baked goods for breakfast. So, apples it is.
