Feb. 9th, 2016 03:17 pmMy back is still bothering me, but I think it's post-whatever-it-was sore, rather than ongoing-whatever-it-was. I'd like to stop wearing my snow boots and see if different shoes help any, but given the weather forecast, that doesn't look terribly likely until at least next week sometime. Unless arriving at work with cold wet feet is an acceptable tradeoff for a sore back, which it isn't.
I stumbled over the BBC War and Peace when it started last month, and it ended last night. The acting was mostly good, and the scenery was gorgeous. (But has Paul Dano ever had a good haircut in his life? Every picture of him online is a picture of him with a bad haircut.) And I couldn't quite buy the character development Pierre was supposed to be going through. Of course, since it's Russian literature, six characters died in the last installment. I think I'm glad I haven't read the book; I would probably have skipped large chunks of Depressing Russian Philosophy.
Bandwagon time: I started Neko Atsume. It's cute, it doesn't make a lot of noise, it doesn't require me to spend money (although I did once, to get off the ground. Considering what I spend on coffee, $1.00 in a game isn't that bad), and you can make actual progress without actually doing a whole lot. So I'm happy.
Just had a phone consultation with a "health coach" from HPHC. She thinks I should keep eating the way I am, and should see if I can take tai chi somewhere. So the question is, what am I going to do with broccoli for dinner tonight?
