dchenes: (katana)
Weather be damned, I went out yesterday intending to get Up To Something for most of the day. So I went out to brunch at The Friendly Toast in Back Bay (food was good, place was loud), and then went swan boating because it's traditional (and wasn't crowded, being mid-60s and fog), and then went and saw Tarzan since I was in the neighborhood (entertaining; just enough plot to hold a lot of CGI together, and Alexander Skarsgard without a shirt on is rather scenic). That got me through 2:30, and then I got a migraine and that was it for the rest of the day. I had meant to go out to dinner, and was toying with the idea of going to see Free State of Jones. The dinner's not going anywhere, but the movie might be gone before I get around to it. Oh well.

Between the movie and the migraine, I got the best birthday email EVER. It defies explanation, but I was standing in the Boylston Street T station laughing so hard I expected to be taken away by the authorities, who wouldn't have understood. Fortunately the train showed up before anybody got any ideas.

I used to get stress-triggered migraines, and I'm not sure that isn't the case with this one. Between the laptop and the ceiling fan and the racial and police situation and the election garbage and CODA and all the other normal stress related to being a responsible adult and breathing in both directions, I haven't been terribly pleased with much of anything lately. I think I should probably give up on the news for a couple of weeks.

I wish I could give up lunch meetings for a couple of weeks, but that won't happen until the middle of next month.
