dchenes: (katana)
Either the A/C at work has come up with a new and different reason for not cooling very much, or they cranked it up considerably on Friday when they finally fixed it and then cranked it down again. At least it's a little less humid than it was on Friday. And Saturday.

I did most of my running around on Saturday because that's how it goes, and I did it in jeans because one of my errands was to go buy some shorts that fit. Which I did find, thankfully, because one pair wasn't going to be enough. So now I have three pairs that fit me in my current incarnation. I've got to go back to being absolutely draconian about what I eat, but not until next week because I bought beer AND made a peach pie yesterday and I'm damned if I let a perfectly good peach pie go to waste. (Smitten Kitchen's peach and creme fraiche pie; I needed to use up an inferior storebought pie crust. Lesson learned: if I really want to keep pie crust in the freezer, I should make the family recipe and freeze that. There's no sugar in the family recipe.)

I know I'm falling back into bad habits about eating when I'm bored. Unfortunately when the weather is hot and humid and I can't embroider without sweating all over it, I have a bit of a hard time distracting myself for hours.

Another item for the list of things I truly don't need, but I think would be cool anyway: having one of my favorite Iceland photos printed on aluminum. That's on the list of "where would you put it, if you did that?", but I love the idea. (It occurs to me that I could glue a magnet to the back of it and stick it to the side of my filing cabinet, and have something to look at besides ecru filing cabinet.) Printing on aluminum is relatively expensive, but I still have the mad money from last Christmas...
