Nov. 2nd, 2017

Yesterday I got handed a new article to sort out. It had 26 references, which were referred to in the body of the article as "Aziz et al. 2016" and similarly helpful things. I managed to find full citations for all of them, including one that's a poster that was presented but hasn't been published as an article yet. I believe I win. Especially because while I was doing that, I answered a work-related research question involving Dr. Seuss (sister was looking for the story of King Looie Katz, which is in I Can Lick 30 Tigers Today, because she wanted to use something about that story for a Powerpoint slide).

It's finally November. The last half of October was no good at all, and should have been canceled. If I'm still here for the next accreditation, I'm damn well taking the entire following week off so I can be sick and get it over with. Although next time we'll be able to edit this time's documents, instead of starting from the beginning and writing the whole damn thing.

At least I'm finally back on speaking terms with my sinuses, before I have to start going to dress rehearsals the week after next. Bach didn't believe in breathing, but at least he also didn't believe in sixteenth-note runs with intervals wider than thirds. I can cope with that. I'm not sure I want to cope with the spring semester, though. I may just need to not sing for that one. (I should look up the bylaws and make sure I'm allowed to not sing since I'm on the executive committee. I think there's something in there about that. But it wouldn't break my heart to not go to committee meetings after rehearsal once a month for a semester, either.)

If I do sing next semester, that means I have between May 14 and September 3 to get scuba certification. I'm not positive I'd want to start before May anyway, on account of cold water. And also on account of wanting there to be less of me to have to cram into a wetsuit; I need some time to do that.

Time to start messing with the trumpet again too.
