Aug. 10th, 2018 08:37 pmJust because nothing on Wednesday afternoon was going to be easy, Lily's thyroid values came back low and her kidney values came back high. Dr. D thinks they're related and caused by too much methimazole. So we go back to 1/4 pill twice a day for two weeks, and then my regular house-call vet draws blood again and we see where we're at. If things have improved, she goes in the next treatment group after August 27. If not, I don't know what we're going to do.
Before I got that news, I decided to go to Target and buy a laundry bag and a pepper mill because the bus-forecasting app went from "5 minutes, hasn't left Kenmore yet" to "20 minutes, hasn't left Kenmore yet", which means no bus for half an hour. I gave myself a blister walking up there, and they were out of pepper mills. I was grumpy enough about those two things that I didn't even look too hard for laundry bags. I did buy a notebook of a different and distinct cover color so I can use it as a scuba notebook.
Tonight, having nothing better to do (thank goodness) and having given up on a Civ 5 game that annoyed me before I got out of the Classical era, I started the online part of the scuba lessons. So far, so good. I've taken half a page of notes and since the language and the science (Boyle's Law) is hovering around the 8th-grade level, it's not so bad. But I've got a headache, so I think I won't try to burn through the whole thing tonight.
