Jan. 15th, 2019 09:16 amYesterday was a snagged-fingernail sort of day: lots of minor aggravations, including an actual snagged fingernail.
I have learned to be wary of emails from my boss that say "please assist, thank you", because they usually involve something like collecting signed copyright forms from six people, two or three of whom might actually be in Massachusetts at any given moment (that's one of the emails I got yesterday). And since my boss is in Philadelphia, and I'm the program administrator for the MMSc in Dental Ed program, I have to present a candidate for conditional admission at a meeting today. I wouldn't mind so much if I hadn't been told about it yesterday afternoon at 3:30.
Back in October or so, I decided to finally buy a HSDM Patagonia fleece jacket from the student sale, for $130 because I wanted my name embroidered on it. In November the jackets arrived with horrible embroidery, so the students sent them back and apologized profusely that we wouldn't get them in time for Christmas. It is now the middle of January and there's no sign of any jackets, and the Instant Gratification Monster is starting to get annoyed.
And I got email reminding me that there's a chorus committee meeting on Wednesday night, for an hour and a half. At least I'm not the clerk any more, so I don't have to take minutes, but I don't want an hour and a half of meeting.
And I snagged my fingernail putting my coat on to go out and get some lunch yesterday, and couldn't do anything about it until I got home. At least that was relatively easily fixable and now I don't have enough fingernail to snag on anything.
And at least I made some pretty good stuff for dinner, consisting of grated zucchini, salt, pepper, garlic, and leftover rice. I've decided that if I'm going to want something hot for dinner, it can't be pasta and has to contain a large proportion of vegetables. Zucchinified rice counts, even though rice is also starch.
And today isn't Monday, and my coffee table left North Carolina at midnight yesterday, and Lily took back her usual spot on the bed, so Snip wasn't in it and I didn't get whacked in the nose with claws when the alarm went off this morning. And I hope I can get another page of embroidery pattern finished this weekend.
