Mar. 12th, 2019 10:35 amI basically talked myself into going diving on Sunday, because it was chilly and raining and had been raining slush, so the sidewalks weren't fun (and I really wanted my new bag, which is waterproof, but it only got ordered yesterday). But scuba divers don't care about precipitation, only about thunderstorms, so I went. In the end, I'm glad I went, because now I know I can do things like take out weight pockets underwater with gloves on. And I know that the new snorkel doesn't lock air out, which is nice, but it doesn't lock water out either, so the first thing to do every time I switch to it is breathe out, strenuously. What I would like to know is why my trim was off when I got back in the pool, after getting out to see why I had the BC hose in my face more than usual. Didn't figure that out either.
I ended up braising stew beef in beef broth, garlic, smoked paprika, salt and pepper, and throwing a box of mushrooms and eventually some sour cream at it, and putting it over the widest egg noodles I could get. Good stuff. Not to be made a habit of, but it was what I wanted for "still winter in the middle of March". And at least it had mushrooms in it, so it wasn't all meat and starch.
Oh, good, I guess we have hot water in the Main building again. It's only been a week plus a couple of days. And theoretically, the jacket I ordered in October will be here on Friday. It's only been almost six months. We're the only office with deadlines these days? I certainly have them. But I can't really blame anybody here for the jacket fiasco; it was the embroiderers.
I hate the fact that rich people can throw money at things that require work, and get what they want without doing the work. It makes it harder to ignore the fact that people suck.
