Nov. 4th, 2019 02:30 pmI've decided that this week I'm allowed to buy one of the $100 worth of cookbooks I didn't buy last week. I might be allowed to buy one cookbook per week in November. For chorus dress rehearsal week (two weeks from now), I'm going to need all the morale I can get. By Thursday of that week I'm going to be a gibbering wreck, because I always am. The week after that, at least, is Thanksgiving.
This weekend I desperately needed to do not much, so I did more embroidery than anything else. The rugs still need vacuuming, though, and I'm mildly annoyed that I couldn't make myself do that. They'll live until next week, but it's the principle of the thing. In two different directions, actually; I ought to be able to get done what I need to get done if I have two days to do it, and at the same time, I ought to be able to relax enough over two days to haul my carcass off to work again for the next five. It's just that when one wins over the other, I either get insufficient productivity or insufficient relaxation.
The end is nigh, by which I mean the temp starts on Wednesday. Thank goodness. I was all set to be two people today and I get to be four people instead (nobody's fault, really; family issues for two different people). Just for that I think I'm leaving at 4:00, because my lunchtime was another interview (this one I didn't mind so much) and I've about had it with no lunchtime and chained to the desk until 5:00 because SOMEBODY with "curriculum" in their title or job description ought to be here. After Wednesday at least the temp can take messages if I leave early.
Strawberry Nerds are acceptable, but grape Nerds are where it's at. Let that be a lesson to most of us.
