Mar. 18th, 2020 02:46 pmWorking from home update:
Having had a Zoom call with my boss, who was wearing a giant Maine sweatshirt, I abandoned the idea of wearing work-appropriate shirts and have been merfing around in my giant HSDM sweatshirt. At least I'm willing to go out in public in that.
We're working on a report of distance education and an educational interruption plan for CODA, but as of yesterday they said they were going to require all graduating students to make up all their lost clinic time before they're allowed to graduate (which is looking like being about eight weeks), and they might not approve educational interruption plans. So what the hell do they want them for, then? Just to prove we have them? I had to take a deep breath and decide it was only Tuesday and they might wake up and be reasonable by the end of the week.
Yesterday I spent between 4:30 and 5:00 kicking cats off my desk every two minutes. Lily wants to lick the laptop screen for some reason. I got frustrated enough to feed the cats and then get the hell out of the house for a while. I walked to Coolidge Corner on the off chance that Trader Joe's would be less of a mob scene than it was last week (true) and that they might have blackberries (they did). But everything else in Coolidge Corner is closed until April 1, closed until further notice, or takeout only. Brookline Booksmith is closed indefinitely, which hurts more than most other things as far as I'm concerned, but it's not like I don't have books here.
