This morning I went to Cambridge for the first time since March because I had to deposit some checks, and the only place to do that these days is the Cambridge office of the credit union. So I went there, on the 86 bus, which was fine. Coming back on the 66 was less fine, but I was able to get off it when it got too crowded for my taste. And I got off it right outside Coolidge Corner, and went to the bookstore at last. The bookstore doesn't feel right, yet, so I didn't stay long. Then I went next door and got coffee, just to see if I could make it feel sort of like a normal weekend excursion. It didn't, but I did figure out how to deal with a drink with a straw in it without taking my mask off, and for the first time since March I have a book in the house that I haven't read yet.

At 3:00 I have an appointment at the dive shop to potentially buy regulators, and I need to buy seltzer on the way home. And after that I had probably better not go anywhere at all for at least a week.
