Aug. 20th, 2005 06:03 pmIt's been a pretty good day. I found my window prisms in the process of looking for my non-alphabet refrigerator magnets (which I didn't find). Now I need a couple of suction-cup hooks to put on the windows, and a new towel bar for the bathroom, because the one that was there more or less fell off the wall the other day, and I want to replace it.
My hair is behaving itself, at least as much as it ever does these days. I didn't do anything with it while I was away, because (a) what's the point, if I'm going swimming that much, (b) I didn't bother bringing a hair dryer, and (c) I can't find the cap for the mousse, and I wasn't going to bring the uncapped bottle. That's going out of the way to invite disasters.
The guy who lives in the basement is away until Labor Day, so I can pretty much do laundry any time I want to until then, providing the basement door is unlocked. I suppose I could have done it today, but I followed the rules and asked the landlord today if I could do it tomorrow.
I managed to get out of the grocery store with enough staple food and fruit to keep me happy for most of the week, for under $20. I think I'll have to make peppers and eggs for breakfast, or possibly lunch, tomorrow.
My new Social Security card showed up in the mail while I was away. So on Monday I could, conceivably, go off for Round 4 with the DMV. I don't think I will, though, because I have another interview with a different department at MIT on Monday. (insert crossed fingers here) The DMV can wait until Tuesday, because I said so. (And so help me, if they come up with another different reason why I can't get my license transferred, somebody besides me is gonna rue that there particular day.)
Despite my lack of air conditioner, it's almost cool in here.
My foot only hurts if I think about it, and doesn't hurt when I walk on it.
I didn't have nightmares last night. If I dreamed anything, I don't remember it.
All in all, a good day.
