I spent most of today reading things again (mostly figuring out what and where things are on the server) and then at 4:30 I finally got to sit down and get told what I'm going to be responsible for. Suffice it to say, I'm going to be assembling a lot of paperwork and (if I do it right) a lot of people, in the same place, once a month. And rearranging a filing cabinet. (The office looks considerably better now than it did when I was interviewing, but it's still figuring out where the homes for various things are.)



I AM: cold, around the edges (hands, feet and nose)
I WANT: enough hot water to take a bath in
I WISH: that any of my several lists were getting shorter
I HATE: liver and onions
I MISS: roast-chestnut stands on street corners in Strasbourg
I HEAR: the heat vent going whoosh
I SEARCH : for Pogo books
I WONDER: what will happen between now and my next birthday
I REGRET: not being as good a friend as I should be
I LOVE: almonds
I ACHE: after I help people move
I ALWAYS: wanted trombone lessons
I AM NOT: in particularly good shape
I DANCE: very badly
I SING: almost as well as I dance badly
I CRY: at the end of "West Side Story"
I AM NOT ALWAYS: as much of a pessimist as I sound like
I WRITE: fluff
I WIN: because I got to indulge one of my dearest dreams
I LOSE: at least one of every pair of small earrings I've ever owned
I CONFUSE: people who don't understand my sense of humor
I NEED: something like $50K to get out of debt
I HOPE: to be out of debt in something under ten years
I WEAR: no shoes whenever possible
