When I had kittens five years ago, I tried to sleep with them - once.
It started out with an extended wrestling match. The match continued to a 'tree climb' up my long drapes. I woke up and saw that they had made it 3/4 of the way to the top.
The kittens were removed from the bedroom and the door closed.
No more wrestling.
About 18 months ago, I started letting Chad the Cat sleep with me again. At first, the outcome was such that he would start meowing in my face shortly after daybreak. Now, he stays asleep and quiet for as long as I'm in bed, even until 1 in the afternoon.
