After spending most of today feeling like an idiot (why is whatever I'm working on usually the wrong thing, even if it was the right thing yesterday?), I went to Diesel tonight and spent an hour or so waiting for Godot. Basically I went and drank coffee and sat there not thinking about not thinking, and letting my brain drift, and sort of half-watching people play pool. My brain didn't go anywhere in particular, and I didn't come up with a brilliant idea out of nowhere; it wasn't that kind of drifting. I was just decompressing, and dreaming, and being quietly human for a while. Too bad I got hungry and had to come home, because I could stand to do more of that sort of thing.
