dchenesNow I'm vindicated for not taking a four-day weekend last week, since Tufts is closed today, so I get a four-day weekend this week instead.
I helped Hillary shovel her car out of its parking space this morning. It took an hour and then some between the two of us. We both had a bit of a case of "All right, where exactly are we supposed to put all this snow we don't want on the car?" I really did try not to bury the car behind Hillary's too much, although some of it was unavoidable. The plows have put a nice foot-high pile of loose snow all down the middle of the space we cleared out. Since I have to be in Harvard Square for 6:30, I won't be home when she discovers this. At least our neighbor with the snow blower buried the BMW in front of his house. (I hate the BMW. It takes up 2 parking spaces on purpose, and you Just Don't Do That around here.)
The kittens, in their insatiable need to know what's on the other side of any given door, keep getting into the stairwell when anybody comes into the apartment. I keep telling them they don't want to go outside since the snow is taller than they are, and besides, snow is wet. So far they aren't listening to me.
So here I am, alone in the apartment, and it's quiet, and it's pretty much ideal for recording my grad school tape, and I'm not doing it because I'm scared stiff of it. Somehow "getting it over with" isn't working as incentive to do it. Sigh.
