Why is it that people come up with good ideas in the shower? Is it that your brain gets mushy and things float to the top at that particular time in the morning, or what? My blinding flashes of inspiration tend to come about as a result of caffeine, rather than as a result of hot water. The shower is where I remember things I knew last week and forgot.

Last night I went off on an odyssey after work. Green line to Red line to South Station, bus to Summer St., hike to UPS depot, pick up package, hike back to bus stop. Bus to South Station, Red line to Harvard Square (Cardullo's), bus to Coolidge Corner (Trader Joe's). Bus to Roxbury Crossing, hike home. All that took me about three hours and twenty minutes, but at the end of it I had new Tevas, chocolate with peppercorns to send off in a care package, enough groceries to get me through the weekend, and sore feet. I go through the sore feet thing every spring when I change shoes, although I should throw out the ones I was wearing yesterday. Today I'm wearing decent sandals, and my feet still hurt, but not in as many places.
