So there was a family party, mostly in tents (thank goodness). And there was twice as much food as necessary, and it was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. I was only asked once whether I was seeing anybody, and I don't think anybody got asked when they're getting married. My cousin C, who got married last year, is pregnant, so that eclipsed anything else any of the other grandkids are doing (or not doing).

I know that my birthday is next month, and I know it's the day before the July SOP meeting, but it didn't occur to me that people might be giving me things for my birthday, starting now. I wasn't even thinking about it when my sister handed me a package the size of a double CD case, which I thought was CDs and turned out to contain an iPod nano. So now I'm doing the New Toy dance and charging the battery, and I think I need a case for the thing. Any recommendations from the reading audience?

Wilson Farms is a dangerous place. I knew that, and I came home with six pints of strawberries anyway (a quart for $5 (organic) or six pints for $7 (not organic); which do you think I'm going to go for?). So now I have to figure out what to do with six pints of strawberries. I also came home with peas, jicama, purple cauliflower (yes, I know, but it's silly), scallions, mushrooms, pickling cucumbers, a couple of Monster Potatoes from Hell, and half of a Savoy cabbage. Sounds to me like stirfry and then some. I was inspired by the utter lack of rain going on for the first time in a week or so.

I suppose I had better go figure out where in the fridge I can fit the strawberries.
