Hooray hooray, it's nitpicking day!

I wish the medical school would make up its collective mind whether or not "academic part-time" has a hyphen in it, because if I put one in, it's wrong, and if I don't, it's also wrong, depending on who proofreads what. (If it's document X being read by person Y, it's hyphenated, but if it's document X being read by person Z, it isn't, and if it's document A being read by person Y, it isn't hyphenated, but if it's document A being read by person Z, it is. But that's complicated, so I never remember, so I always get it wrong.)

And no, we are not ahead of the game for the SOP mailing. It's got to go out today (should've gone yesterday) and we don't have parts of two of the six packets yet. And if I send the stuff by FedEx, as I was told to by the office manager, printing the airbills will take two hours and the packets won't get to people until tomorrow.

And then there's the meeting planning sheet. Apparently it's too much effort to realize that if there's a date in the "date confirmed" field, a person's attendance is confirmed as of that date; I have to paste the whole reply to my email in too (and heaven forbid they confirm by phone, because then even though it says "confirmed by phone with MKD", I have to reassure everybody at least three times that yes, I spoke to this person, and yes, they said they were coming, and no, that hasn't changed since the last time you asked).

Coincidentally, if you come ask me at 2:15 if we can meet about this at 2:30 and then you disappear from 2:25 until 2:55, with another meeting at 3:00, that doesn't help. Especially when you do it for three or four days in a row.

And I made three days' worth of lunch on Monday night and have so far failed to remember to bring any actual lunch to work twice now.
