oh, *that* immune system...
Aug. 28th, 2008 07:40 pmAt the risk of jinxing myself, I think I might be starting to get over the grue. I'm down to blowing my nose every half an hour, instead of once a minute for fifteen minutes every half an hour, and I can generally breathe through at least one side of my nose.
On the theory that chicken soup is good for the grue, I made 15-minute soup for dinner. It started with chicken broth, ginger, garlic, soy sauce and celery, simmered for 10 minutes to soften up the celery a bit. I pulled out a little broth and added corn starch to it, threw baby corn, water chestnuts and mushrooms in the soup, brought it back to a simmer and added two cakes of dry Chinese noodles and a couple of handfuls of spinach. That simmered for three more minutes and then I added the cornstarch goop to make the liquid into gravy. If that won't cure the grue, at least it tastes good.
