This afternoon the copier decided it had Had Enough (after two days of nearly constant operation), and proceeded to jam so hard we had to call a technician to get it unjammed. This was after it decided it was out of toner. Replacing the toner of course resulted in a not-quite-minor toner cartridge explosion; fortunately I was not wearing a light-colored shirt, and I only got my hand and the copier's innards, mostly.

In other "technology hates me" news, my TV has developed an inch-wide colored stripe (generally either yellow or purple) right down the middle of the screen. That means it needs repair, and getting it repaired probably means I have to take it to Brookline, and the damn thing is HEAVY. (That's Argument 1 in favor of getting a small flat screen TV, except that Argument 1 against consists of the word "budget" and is extremely compelling.)

Isn't technology wonderful, except when it isn't?

There's a TV repair place down near the intersection of Market & Washington near you. I never got to try it but you might as well give it a go. You could get the TV there on wheels if someone like your landlady has a cart to lend you.

It turns out that what's wrong isn't with my TV, but with the Discovery Channel. (Thank goodness!)

I do have to go down to the vacuum cleaner store in that neck of the woods, though. Next time I buy a vacuum cleaner, I buy one with readily available replacement bags.

Don't bother buying a vacuum with a bag. Turns out the ones with a self-contained canister and a filter that can be washed are better for removing dust from the air!

BTW, aparently daylight savings happens to us on Saturday/Sunday?
