In July I went cross-eyed breaking down two years of senior promotions by department, by institution, and by department and institution.

In September I went cross-eyed breaking down two years of senior promotions by institution and by institution by month.

This afternoon I went cross-eyed breaking down two years of senior promotions by month and by type by month.

Immediately after that, it occurred to me that with some basic data in an Access database, we can run queries on it and come up with whatever variation on all these statistics somebody's going to want in December, and I won't have to go back through two years of meeting agendas and lists of names, AGAIN.

So I knocked together a teeny little Access database and entered 135 people's promotion data in it, and on Monday I start writing queries. I wish I had thought of that in July.
