dchenesYesterday I got to work about ten minutes late because the train I was on had some sort of problem and kept going about five feet and stopping. Today I got to work exactly on time, as opposed to the normal time (ten minutes early) because the train had some sort of problem with the doors not wanting to open and/or close. If there's something wrong with the train tomorrow, I'm going to write to the MBTA.
It should not be in the 40s at night in June.
I've had this job since 1999, and I still don't understand how somebody can have 28 teeth and need every single one of them crowned. If they were my teeth, I'd have them all out and get dentures. It would be cheaper.
Last night I went out grocery shopping after dinner. I knew there was a reason I don't go to the Whole Foods market much. I spent $12 on a package of spinach, a small block of cheese, two small bottles of black currant soda, a bottle of pomegranate juice and four large white mushrooms. Grr, argh. At least tonight I can make myself an omelet, which is really what I wanted for dinner last night, but I didn't figure that out until I had already eaten the leftover pasta-and-bean salad.
I think there are elderly people who get to a certain age and say "Right. I'm (insert age here) and I'm tired of being nice to people." And then they call me. Maybe it's just a function of working where I do, but over the last week or so I've dealt with a surprising number of rather nasty elderly people. Some of them could probably make a lot of money doing voices for "mean old person next door" cartoon characters.
I repotted my poor jade plant, which had been living in a cracked pot ever since it went flying off the top of my bookshelf (with feline assistance). One of the cats keeps digging up one of the newly repotted stalks. I've found it on the floor two days in a row now. Unfortunately there's no place I can put this poor plant that the cats can't get to, except on the porch, and it's too cold at night for that.
