field trip!

I decided, since I'm on vacation and I hadn't done it in years, to go to the aquarium today. I enjoyed it quite a lot, and learned the Spanish for "octopus" (some Spanish-speaking teenage girls were mightily impressed with the gross factor of a very large octopus; the octopus was less impressed with the camera flashes, and decamped).

I really wanted pictures of a couple of the jellyfish tanks, but of course I forgot to bring the camera.

The teeny little blue penguins are still pretty cute, too.

I would probably go to the aquarium more often if I had a membership. Maybe someday I'll do something about that.
