time-lapse
Mar. 25th, 2010 01:27 pmI'm beginning to wonder what language I wrote the post-SOP filing instructions in, because apparently it isn't English. I thought it would be easy, given a list of what goes where, to put things where they belong, but the second person in a row is making a serious hash of it.
Some of it is probably the fact that I'd had it down to a science, and watching the new people figure it out is painful sometimes. But when one of the items on the list of what goes in the brown folder for each candidate is "votesheets" and I get questions like "Does each votesheet get its own brown folder?", I start to wonder what the hell is going on.
It also doesn't help that I woke up this morning and my brain decided that today was going to be "oh my god what have I DONE!" day instead of "this is going to be SO COOL!" day, so I default to nervous when I'm not paying attention to being anything else. I'll be fine once I actually get on the plane, but that's tomorrow night.
(long pause)
Much better. All the bills I was expecting to get have arrived and been paid (early, even!), and my brain is speaking to me again, instead of screaming at me. And I learned some new stuff. And I keep getting email from people wishing me a marvelous trip, which is nice of them. The upshot is that I think I can show up for dinner tonight as a functional human being, as opposed to an absolute mess.
