I've been spending money again, sigh.
In Jaipur, I bought a very nice piece of artwork consisting of pressed flowers, which was framed when I bought it. I was told the "glass" on it was acrylic. It wasn't, and it shattered all over the inside of my suitcase. This morning I took it to a framer to have the glass replaced. As it turned out, it wasn't framed very well either, so I ended up spending $160 on new glass, mat and frame. But it will be lovely when it's done, and I won't have to spend any more money on it.
Then I went to The Pear Tree in Coolidge Corner and spent $17 on a bead to fix a necklace, and a chain for my ruby pendant. The cord the pendant came with was just long enough to make me worry about strangling myself in my sleep, so I got a slightly shorter chain.
After that I went to the Brookline Booksmith, and spent $24 on used books and one on-sale Indian cookbook. (I don't want Indian food right now, but when I do want it again, now at least I can do it myself.)
I hadn't had coffee yet at that point, so I fixed that.
After coffee I went to Walgreens and spent $25 on a prescription, a new travel toothbrush and a compact mirror. At which point it was time to meet up with people for lunch, so we went to Upper Crust and had pizza.
After THAT, I went up to the new Petco branch and bought cat food and Litter Locker liners. And now I'm home, with a slight pain in the wallet, but absolutely no more errands needing to be done this weekend.
