marking time
Jul. 23rd, 2010 02:23 pmYesterday in a meeting about how we're going to switch me over to junior promotions, I observed that it would help if I knew who was going to start doing the things I have to stop doing. That led to a request for a list of things I'm doing, for a meeting today. So far I have a 16-item list of general things, some of which get multiplied by 24 because I do them for 24 separate evaluation committees.
I'm actually looking forward to today's meeting for reasons other than presenting the list. The point of all this is for me to start learning something new, and it's about time. Every time I have to write another set of honorarium requests, three or four more neurons shrivel up.
Anybody know a good way to get cat hair off neoprene? Snip thinks my laptop sleeve is a cat bed. I haven't tried masking tape yet, but nothing else has worked.
According to my highly informative family calendar, Tuesday is "Take Your Houseplant For a Walk Day". I think mine will skip it; for one thing, I'd need a wagon to take all seven jade plants for a walk at once, and for another, that's silly. (But next Thursday is Lasagna Day, and I can get behind that. Assuming the weather is conducive to baking things besides me.)
Speaking of Lasagna Day, I missed the farmers' markets yesterday, again. I always seem to be too tired by the end of Thursday to want to go home via Coolidge Corner. Which sucks, because I don't know where else I can get my favorite weird heirloom tomatoes (those being the purple ones with green stripes).
