I've discovered an addendum to the rule about not going grocery shopping when hungry: don't go to Penzey's when you've been eating underseasoned Bean Sludge for lunch for two weeks.

Here's what was on the list:

- Parsley
- Basil
- Bavarian seasoning mix (brown mustard, rosemary, garlic, thyme, bay leaf and sage)
- Sweet curry powder
- Parisien bonnes herbes (chive, dill, basil, tarragon, chervil and white pepper)

Here's what I came home with:

- All of the above, AND:
- Five spice powder
- Mural of Flavor seasoning mix (shallot, onion, garlic, lemon peel, orange peel and chives)
- Ground sumac
- Chili powder
- Sunny Paris seasoning mix (shallot, chive, green peppercorn, basil, tarragon, chervil, bay leaf and dill)

Somehow I think whatever I end up cooking tomorrow won't be underseasoned.
At least the sumac is the only thing I said "what am I gonna do with THAT?" about when I got it home.

I'm putting the Bonnes Herbes and olive oil on angel hair, and there's never any left over, so it doesn't have a chance to get overpowering.
