The only problem with weekends is they get followed by weeks like this one.

This past weekend, I went out on Saturday intending to do some errands. It was so nice out that I got off the T for the first errand (Boylston St. Apple store) and then walked to all the other errands in Downtown Crossing and Chinatown. Following all the errands, I came home and opened some windows for a couple of hours. It's not supposed to be 50 degrees in January, but that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy it. And I came home with almost everything I went out for. (Except for four colors of embroidery floss which, although not officially discontinued, appear to be rare around here. I am now trying to figure out whether it's worth spending more on shipping than on floss.)

On Sunday I went out for dim sum, and ended up at a place I'd never been before. The only way to get dim sum without stealth shellfish in it is to go to a place with a menu. All the places I had been before had had carts. The custard buns at the new place were terrible, but the rest was good. After stuffing myself, I went wandering a bit, and then went off to my voice lesson. Which went pretty well, considering I need air management classes. After that I went home by way of grocery shopping, and made pork stew for lunch this week, and did some embroidery, and watched Denver beat Pittsburgh. So it was a good weekend.

This week, unfortunately, is P&R week, and this particular meeting is turning into a logistical and political nightmare. At least there's only one meeting this month. It is, however, the morning meeting. I guess a 6:45 to 5:00 day is better than a 6:45 to 6:45 day.
