I now have two possible walks home: 2.75 miles and all walking, or 1.9 miles and a ride on the T between Harvard Ave and Washington St. I took the short one yesterday because my legs were the only bits of me that didn't hurt. (Helping to move a hot tub from JP to Quincy will do that.) But exercise is good for you, so I hear, and almost-two-miles is better than no walk at all.

Oh, my creakin' cranium. I just had an email exchange with somebody who was either being deliberately obtuse, or missed every other word of what I wrote and took the opposite meanings of the ones left over. It's sorted out, since I brought the whole exchange to my boss and asked her if I had written what I thought I had written, and she said I had. And then I got email from the other party saying they understood now. I just hate being gaslighted like that. (Not sure "gaslighted" is the word I want. What I mean is "being made to doubt that I did what I did, because that's the only way this situation makes sense".)

Tomorrow we have the apparently annual office retreat. Last year's was the first one, and it was surprisingly constructive; I hope this year's is too. Apparently my partner in crime is coming, even though he's technically on paternity leave until next Wednesday. I wonder if that means he won't be back until next Thursday? Not that it matters, because I'll be here anyway. I get to be not here for two weeks, three weeks from now, and I can't hardly wait. Sometimes "not at work" is a perfectly good vacation destination.
