I haven't seen a schedule that looks like this since I was scheduling final ad hoc promotions committee meetings. So far I've had to find rooms and food for lunch meetings on August 14, 21, 22, 23, 28, and two on August 29. They tell me it will get better once the courses get underway and we stop having tutor calibration meetings. Then I can concentrate on things like the visitors from Tokyo University (A Big Deal) and the curriculum blueprint meeting (A Bigger Deal, because *gasp* the clinic is closed), and the fact that we want to get all the end-of-course surveys off paper and online (which isn't such a big deal, but is progress). And whatever else comes up.

I don't understand why anybody would want to run their air conditioner all night when the weather gets down to 60 or so degrees and not all that humid. But my neighbors do it. I know this, because it beeped this morning at 6:00 when it stopped going WHOOSH. I'm starting to think I should just shut all of my windows except the one over the back yard, because I'm surrounded by the constant air conditioner, the air conditioner on the other side that sounds like a bilge pump, a fair number of loud phone conversations I can't stop hearing unless I go to the other side of my apartment (honestly, I don't want to know why you're fighting with your girlfriend! I don't even want to know that you're fighting with your girlfriend in the first place!) and a cigar smoker. But I don't want to shut the windows yet, because I object to sealing myself up in my apartment before I have to. ("Have to" meaning the heat comes on if I don't.)

TL;DR: grump.
