I get that rain is good for green growing things, but it gets cold when it rains and I disapprove of that. Although "cold" is a matter of opinion, and going out in the rain with a sweater on in June is still better than going out with a winter coat on. However, since the sun is back again today, I guess the Rain for Rent tank that got parked next to HSDM on Tuesday has exhausted its rain-attracting powers. (I have no idea what the tank is there for, but this morning it was being kept company by a forklift toting around one of those big industrial tool cabinets. Whatever the reason is, apparently it's serious.)

Speaking of water, Leo the Late Bloomer seems to have adjusted to life in a pot, but hasn't really been growing much more. I think maybe he wants more light, but I'm not sure where I can put him that would get him that. Maybe I'll turn my random five-gallon bucket into a plant stand and park it under the bedroom window and see if he likes that.

I think I might have to change the "Wednesday is indulgence day" model if I actually want to stop losing weight. I usually end up with about 80 points to play with, and I can't eat 80 points of anything for dinner without making myself sick. I guess either I have to start spreading the wealth a little more, or I have to stop walking so much. And now that I've figured that out, watch me gain three pounds next week without doing anything different. OK, probably not three pounds, but it does get frustrating that I can't really tell from week to week what's going to happen. Month to month I mostly lose about a pound, but within the month I go up or down or nowhere on any given week.

Lemon ice cream with marshmallow in it could, I suppose, pass for lemon meringue pie ice cream (especially since meringue is wasted on me). But in order to make it real flip-top pie ice cream, you'd have to freeze the ice cream, and then put an Apple Jack on it, and then freeze the marshmallow on top of the whole works. Oh well. Lasagna ice cream is probably not such a good idea either, because I have no idea what I'd do about the noodles. (I got that idea through trying to figure out how to turn the Smitten Kitchen tomato shortcake recipe into tomato and goat cheese ice cream sandwiches, with scallion pancakes as the sandwich part.) And this is why I don't own an ice cream machine.

Several hours later: I think I've figured out how to reconfigure the point spread. (Yes, I know that ain't what that means.) I did write it down, but now I have to remember what it means when I get home and can really lay it out and see what it looks like.
