dchenesFirst scuba class last night (and now I know I can saunter out there from work in half an hour, so if I'm not sauntering, I can probably do it in 23 minutes or so. I can probably do it in 20 minutes if I don't have to stand there waiting for traffic lights.). I now own fins, mask, snorkel and neoprene socks. I have to special order boots because I need low cut ones; regular ones won't zip around my ankles. But I can go in the pool in just socks. The fins won't fit without them. Eventually I expect to own a wetsuit too, but I'm not sure I need my own BC. Not yet, anyway.
I also now know how to attach a tank to a BC, and a rebreather to a tank. And I know how to take it all apart again. I'm not good at it, but I do know how.
Next step: schedule first pool session, having now watched the Risk Awareness videos. Question is, do I want to do it on Sunday? (Sort of. But right now it's Wednesday and I'm tired and I don't want to commit to much of anything.) I think doing a double session the first time wouldn't be a good idea, despite being tempting because I need seven pool sessions before the open water dives.
Tonight, since I don't have anywhere to be, I want to go home and wash towels (they don't dry, lately; I hate humidity) and roast tomatoes (I had to throw out the last batch last night because they got furry, in the fridge; I HATE humidity!) and clean the litterbox. And, ideally, leave at 4:00 today and get home early and split Lily's pills some more and vacuum all the rugs besides. The rugs have needed help since last week, but I had a headache from Friday night to Sunday morning and wasn't inclined to turn on the vacuum cleaner.
Tomorrow night, HRC committee meeting, in a place that's hard to get to without driving. Yay. Potluck dinner. Double yay, because I have to bring something on the bus. Probably mostly the same meeting we have every time: dues, CDs, ticket sales, finances, concert date, advertising, next meeting date. Triple yay. Oh well. At least once it's over with, it will be over with. Next thing to remember: eye appointment on Friday morning. Which I have just gotten voicemail about, so I guess it's actually happening.
