GAH. Good thing I'm taking next week off, because after Thursday through Sunday I'm going to need it anyway.

Lily's next appointment is on Thursday, which is the first day of my vacation. Turns out I have to keep her in the bathroom for four hours before the appointment time, which means I'm going to get the Song of the Miserable Feline for three hours and 55 minutes. I suggested a sedative, because she was pretty rigid last time and that won't help if we're trying to stick a needle in her bladder, so sedative it is. And also rabies shots for both cats while we're at it. So maybe I get the Song of the Miserable Feline for a mere three hours (sedative to be given two hours before the appointment) followed by Zombie Snip for 24 hours (rabies shots do that to her).

I get to sit around and twitch and wait for lab results and freak Lily out every time I move, and try to get Zombie Snip to eat something, all day Friday. (Memo to self: buy a rotisserie chicken on Thursday afternoon.)

I put on my big girl panties and reserved a Zipcar for Saturday and Sunday, despite having an offer from somebody I sing with to drive me down on Saturday. I can't ask anyone else to be bored out of their skull for me all day while I'm off having adventures. Now I just need no traffic on 90, 93 South or 3 South between 7:00 and 8:30 on Saturday morning. (HA. Hopefully nobody goes to the Cape for the weekend on Saturday mornings in October, though.)

I'm more stressed out about the driving than I am about the cold water. Having discovered the Idiots in Cars subreddit last week isn't helping either. I'm reasonably sure I can avoid being an idiot, but I can't say that about everyone else on the road around here.

This all can't be as difficult as I'm thinking it will be. Unfortunately I seem to have gotten the worrying gene from Grammie, and big things worry me.
