Party animal?

dchenesAnyone who knows me at all knows I'm not a party animal. And yet over the last three days, I've been to three different parties.
The first one was Saturday afternoon, and was an outdoor picnic, which was quite nice. Enough food for the Russian army, good company, sunshine...good stuff.
The second one was Saturday night; a housewarming. Amazing apartment, I got to see some people I hadn't seen in at least six months, generally fun.
The third one was Sunday afternoon/evening. It was a "come hang out and play games" sort of thing, and I'm not a great player of games, but I brought my embroidery and did some of that, and hung out, and generally had a good time there too. I finally found out what the big deal about "Apples to Apples" is, and we played Trivial Pursuit, boys vs. girls, and we girls won,
so it was pretty much all good. Around about 11:30 I got tired and stopped paying quite so much attention to what I was saying, and made a comment I probably shouldn't have made, but I don't think anything will come of it, and if it does, it's my own fault.
The only thing I would have changed about the weekend (aside from the rain yesterday, in which I had to go grocery shopping) is the amount of time I spent trying not to go into insulin shock from my housemate and her boyfriend. I can accept that they're crazy about each other and therefore joined at the hip. Been there myself, even. But it's getting to the point where he dips her and instead of thinking "aww, that's cute", I think "oh, great, here we go again." Does that make me a bitter, cynical, terrible person?
Yesterday I had the whole day and the whole apartment to myself, and I spent it embroidering and ignoring the dirty dishes in the sink (shame on me) and in general being a lazy bum and eating too much (shame on me, again).
Today should be canceled. Work is being about as annoying as it ever gets. Grrr
